1 in 4 DWI drivers impaired by drugs, experts say.

Authorities say the numbers of drug-impaired drivers on the state's roadways quickly are growing. They estimate about 25 percent of the drivers stopped locally for DWI are impaired by drugs. Moreover, that impairment most commonly is caused by prescription drugs, such as painkillers, anti-depressants and others, commonly found in home medicine cabinets.
